Massachusetts ordered that this site be closed in 1983. In 1983, the EPA also listed this site on the NPL. When the EPA listed it on the NPL, the owners had filed for bankruptcy. There were samples that were establish near the site which were from surface that had revealed VOCs and heavy metals in the groundwater from apartments and some other types of private homes. Some of the threats and contaminants that were found and connected to this superfund site include benzene, tetrahydrofuran, arsenic, dioxane, and butanone.
